This week, we have welcomed Michael Venner to the position of CEO at Auva, effective from 28 March 2022! Mike joins us from NQA Certification where he held the position of Aerospace and Automotive Director and prior to this, he was the CEO of IMS International.
This is an exciting new chapter for Auva with an inspiring ‘behind the scenes’ story of long-lasting business relationships. Graham O’Geran, Auva’s Business Development Officer and Mike previously worked together for many years at IMS International, one of the world’s leading UKAS accredited certification bodies. Graham, the owner of IMS, in fact gave Mike his first job in ISO certification following the completion of his Aerospace Engineering honours degree. Having worked his way up through the company over numerous years, Mike became a partner in 2007 and CEO in 2015.
“To have Mike as CEO at Auva was always our plan,” said Graham. “However, due to the pandemic, our strategic plans for the business were temporarily delayed. By October 2021, we were in a much better position to move forward with our objectives and set the wheels in motion. I’ve no doubt that Mike will push us from strength to strength with his expertise and enthusiasm for certification, which will be paramount to our future. He has a wealth of experience in the industry and I know our clients will find that he is extremely customer focussed.”
Mike has continued his interest and specialism in the aerospace sector.
“One of my first objectives is to introduce AS9104 (Aerospace Quality Management Systems) accreditation to Auva which allows us to provide certification to AS9100 and AS9120 standards. There are only five certification bodies in the UK that can currently give this, and we will be joining them soon.”
“Joining Auva is an exciting opportunity. My goal within the certification business has been to help businesses be better at what they do. To offer certification at affordable prices but with no compromise on service. At IMS, Graham and I always prided ourselves on having highly talented auditors and streamlined systems; we saw certification as a journey, not an event, and supported clients throughout that journey. Auva shares that vision and passion, which attracted me to the company. Value is something people feel, not something we tell them they get. Auva focuses on bringing that value through support and transparency; it’s not all about money; it’s about wanting customers to succeed.”
