Globe Engineering Ltd, a manufacturer of precision engineered components, has been awarded AS9100 quality management systems standard for aviation, space, and defence organisations. This is the first AS9100 aerospace certification to be awarded by Auva Certification since their UKAS accreditation was granted.

To mark the achievement, Michael Venner, CEO at Auva Certification, presented the certification to Globe Engineering’s Managing Director Chris Howarth at its offices in Braintree, Essex.

Globe Engineering passed a rigorous audit defined by the AS9100 certification scope covering the design and manufacture of tooling, precision manufacturing and assembly utilising multi and 5-axis machining to automotive, defence, aerospace and nuclear sectors. This achievement reflects Globe Engineering’s commitment to the aerospace industry and its customers by providing international validation of product quality and assurance at the highest safety standards.  The standard also provides Globe Engineering with an increased opportunity for growth and expansion in the sector.

Michael Venner, CEO at Auva Certification said: “We congratulate Chris and his team on their certification success! The aerospace industry is a high-risk sector and regulatory control is needed to capture the requirements and the importance of safety, reliability or maintainability on a global level. With the ever-changing demands of their industry marketplace, certification to AS9100 can bring real improvements in business processes and customer satisfaction.”

Chris Howarth, managing director at Globe Engineering said: “We are delighted to achieve AS9100. In a competitive marketplace, achieving this certification has been part of a strategic drive to improve and enhance our business processes and operational excellence to ensure our products and services meet the highest standards required in the aerospace industries.”
